i'm baaack...

well, kind of...

i've been trying to find time to upload pics (as i promised in my earlier post)...
tried to do that today, and, for some reason, our computer no longer recognizes our camera when we connect it (if it ain't one thing, it's another)!


aside from that, i've been super busy:

* all of our gardens (6 in all...they're not large, just spread out) are finally weeded, planted, and ready to be mulched...yay! (we finally cleared all the weeds and wildflowers out from around the shed and transplanted our peonies)

* planning jaden's 6th birthday party...she made her own invites (it's a "candy-themed" party...we're going to have a candy bar and a table to decorate your own cupcakes)

* the kitchen's almost done! (only 5 more cabinet doors to paint and old carpet to pull up)

* jaden tried to convince me she wants a puppy...the conversation went something like this:
jaden: "mom, i really want a puppy!"

me: "you do? you know they're hard work."

jaden: "well, on the Bratz sleepover movie, the little girl has a puppy and she has to learn how to take care of it. and, if i get a puppy, i PROMISE i will watch the Bratz sleepover movie EVERY DAY so i know what to do!"

lots going on...and i promise to come back later and fill in with pics!


1. jaden won a coloring contest and earned a party at the fire station in vandalia...
she got to invite 10 friends and they got to spray the hose and actually ride on a fire truck!

2. been working outside a lot...i have the flower bug, apparently...(this is funny if you know me, becaue i don't generally consider myself to have a green thumb, but i'm working on it)

3. i have been avoiding "spring cleaning" like the plague...ugh!

4. jackson and our fabulous neighbor mike put in some new windows...now the girls can finally enjoy some fresh air in their room

5. big plans to FINALLY finish the kitchen...yay!

6. ashlyn got into some of my lace, and turned it into a "dress"...(you really have to see the pics to appreciate this one!)

7. went to OSU's spring game yesterday...it started raining pretty much the minute we got there, and stopped pretty much the minute we left...but it was still really cool!

8. jaden lost her second tooth...luckily, she didn't swallow this one

9. more gardening...jackson's thrilled, let me tell ya...lol!

10. i am CRAZY busy with my etsy shop...i have been filling some bulk orders for some fabulous kit clubs...(i'll add links later)

i'm working on...

lately, i have been very frustrated, unhappy, and upset...
with everything
...and everyone

i've taken a lot of time to think about those things...about everything that i'm unhappy about, and i've come to a realization...

i can't change what is bothering me, so i have to work on myself...i have to change ME.


so, i've been trying to keep my temper under control,
trying to stay calm,
trying not raise my voice or argue with jackson, the girls, or my students,
i'm letting whatever my principal does/says roll of my back...

i'm dabbling more in my crafts, and that's making me a happy camper
i even bought myself some things...things i actually need! a few new tops, new purse, new shoes

i'm working on myself...

i'm trying to make a better me!
